HTML 4.0 can be used for articles or essays which are published in our CMS, which is based on Drupal, PNG is our favourite formats for pictures,
if you create music you may want to encode it in OGG/Vorbis!!

English is next to german our second supported language (translations are offered by Lotussteve),
because with our HOW-TOs we aim at a international audience.

All authors are required to generate a GnuPG-key to ensure the privacy of (the mails of) all participating contributors.
So, after keysigning and verification on the phone or at a keysigning party you will be added to the CARGAL web of trust!
(I personally recommend using Mutt, this mailer integrates GnuPG smoothly!)

Every author gets one or more emailadresses $YOUR_NAME@cargal.org (You can have any name or acronym you want),
the acess data will be sent to you encrypted!

Mailingslists are setup to provide quick coordination for events and projects.

Every authors can set up a memberpage with a description and a picture, to lower the anonymity of the "global village".

On our server each member gets a certain quota of disk space which can be reached via http://www.cargal.org/~USERNAME.
How much is dependent on the purpose it is used for and for how long you need it.

SSL-secured instant messaging and conferencing is supplied via our own Jabberserver,
where all important issues can be discussed with your privacy protected! Jabber is the system of choice for chitchat and general meetings in an secure environment!

For Webmail and onlinecalendars we will soon (summer 2004) provide Squirrelmail, expanded with a great number of plugins. SSL and a virtual keyboard will be there to protect you!

Users may publish their photos and paintings in our Gallery, provided by this great software.

Wether you want to make a vernisage, or just a collection of jokes, it`s all up to you!
