Der RSS Reader meiner Wahl unter Mac OSX ist Vienna. Da der, nun doch angestaube brushed metal look nicht mehr wirklich zu den restlichen Anwendungen passt, und ich nur wegen der Oberfläche mich nicht auf die Suche nach einem neuen RSS Reader begeben wollte, bin ich über dieses Theme gestolpert.

Habe nun ein sehr nützliches Tool "gefunden", Danke an dieser Stelle an meinen Wohnungskollegen:
wer kennt nicht das Problem: man klickt sich durch Wikipedia auf der Suche nach der alles bedeutenden Antwort (42) und vergisst dann im Endeffekt die Frage, weil man sich in einem Sumpf von Tabs, Browserfenster gespeicherten Bildern am Desktop total verirrt hat.
Pathway verspricht hier Besserung. Es demonstriert den Weg grafisch in einer Art Mind Map; damit kann man den beschwerlichen Weg durch unbegreifliches Wissen nachverfolgen und so wenigstens den Überblick bewahren (versuchen).

Your needs determine which tool is best for you. If you want a powerful visualization system with a huge variety of visualization algorithms, then MayaVi is the one for you. For numerical computation with visualization, GNU Octave and Scilab fit the bill. If you need symbolic computation capabilities, Maxima is a useful alternative. Das Problem sieht der bei Red Hat beschäftigte Programmierer vor allem in der Verallgemeinerung: So könne man Projekte wie den Linux-Kernel nicht mit den Massen an Open-Source-Projekten vergleichen, die sich bei Sourceforge fänden. Von hoher Qualität könne man daher nur bei einigen Projekten sprechen und das seien die, die gute Programmierer haben und ihren Quellcode sorgfältig überprüfen würden. Amen.
Der Vorteil von Open Source ist IMHO allerdings der, dass man a) den Code selber beurteilen (lassen) kann und b) eventuelle Fehler auch selber ausbessern kann und nicht auf einen neuen Release warten muss.

Yesterday, I described my problem, that Lenovos ThinkVantage tool Access Connections Version 4.12 could not turn my Intel 2200 BG wireless card on or off. In fact, these two couldn’t communicate with each other at all. After much thinking and trial and error I finally found a solution in one of the Thinkpad-forums.

My Thinkpad T42p (2668-Q1) doesn’t love me any more. More detailed: the ThinkVantage Access Connections tool just won’t talk to the built in Intel 2200BG Wireless card any more. Unfortunately I can’t pinpoint the exact cause of this problem any more. I can remember, that I updateed Access Connections (AC) from 4.11 to 4.12, and did not reboot. After that, I connected a new cell phone via bluetooth (more drivers installed) and a while after that I rebooted and wham - no WLAN any more.

Vim (Vi IMproved) version 6.4
This is a bugfix release of Vim. Since Vim 6.3 dozens of reported problems have been fixed. Also included are new and updated syntax files, translated menus and messages.
There are no new features. This release is only fixing bugs.
Get it as long as it is fresh!

Man kennt das ja: Noch mal schnell Mails checken, noch mal schnell in das Forum schaun, eventuell braucht ja wer was, noch mal schnell den Feedreader checken, kann ja sein, dass sich was getan hat.
So vergeht schnell ein ganzer Tag, ohne dass man was erledigt hat. Für all jene, die wie ich nicht die Selbstbeherrschung haben, den Browser/Feedreader/… geschlossen zu lassen, gibt es nun Hilfe: Temptation Blocker!

Also ich suche KEIN CMS wie Drupal, ...Nuke..., etc., sondern eine Art Framework/Toolset, mit dem ich einfach ein kleines, webbasiertes Access "nachbauen" kann.
Also User- und Sessionmanagement sowie eine einfache Moeglichkeit, Abfragen und Formulare zu erstellen.
